Built over generations: Dignus Group and JW Hinks

07/10/2026

For more than two decades, JW Hinks has worked alongside Dignus Group as their business has evolved into a growing specialist care group.

What began as a relationship with one family generation has continued with the next, giving JW Hinks a long-term perspective on the business and the people behind it.

Today, it is a partnership built on trust, with a team that understands the history of the business, how it operates and the challenges it faces. That perspective allows us to provide informed, practical advice as the organisation continues to grow.

Where the journey began

Dignus Group has progressed a long way since the business was first established in 2006.

Originally focused on elderly care, the organisation made a strategic shift into specialist care for young people.

The organisation now operates across the East and West Midlands with plans to expand into the Northwest. Its scale has increased substantially:

  • 400 team members
  • Capacity for up to 105 young people
  • 17 locations across the region with four others in registration or construction

This growth reflects the organisation’s continued investment in specialist care services and its ambition to support more people across the region.

The team is made up of support workers and the operations teams based at its Walsall head office, including finance, marketing, administration, and senior management.

With that growth has come greater financial complexity and a wider range of decisions for the leadership team to consider, so having the right financial information and advice in place has become an increasingly important part of making those decisions with confidence.

A partnership shaped by continuity — and the clarity it enables

Our long-term partnership has given our team a deep understanding of how the organisation operates, how it has evolved, and the financial structures required to support its growth.

That perspective means our work is informed, efficient, and directly aligned with the realities of a multi‑site care provider.

Then as Dignus Group has expanded, our support has evolved with it.

What began with management accounts and forecasting – providing greater visibility of the organisation’s financial position, has developed into a full suite of annual requirements, including audit, corporation tax and end-of-year accounts preparation.

This continuity allows us to focus on the issues that matter most, providing advice that is informed by years of knowledge and understanding of the organisation.

Whether reviewing financial detail, talking through an operational issue or providing perspective on a decision, our team can respond quickly and confidently because we understand the organisation’s history, pressures and priorities.

It means the leadership team has access to clear financial information and practical guidance whenever they need it, enabling Dignus Group to focus on developing their teams, strengthening internal functions and shaping the organisation they need for the future.

A shared belief in the value of people

While the two businesses operate in very different sectors, there is a shared understanding of what makes an organisation work: its people.

Dignus Group’s support workers are central to the care it provides, while behind the scenes its internal teams keep the organisation running as it continues to grow. Building a strong team and creating an environment where people want to stay is an important part of that.

The same can be said of JW Hinks. Our firm has team members who have been with the business for decades, bringing experience and knowledge that is valued by both our wider team and our clients.

That appreciation for people, experience, and long-standing relationships creates a natural connection between the two organisations.

It is part of what has allowed the relationship to continue across generations, while remaining personal and grounded in the way both businesses work.

Continuing the journey together

Dignus Group continues to progress, with ambitions of expansion into Leicester and Nottingham, alongside the continued development of its teams and internal functions, the organisation is entering another period of growth.

As Dignus Group continues to grow, our role is to provide the financial insight, accountancy expertise and practical support needed to help the organisation navigate its next stage of development with confidence.
