JW Hinks is proud to announce it charity partner for 2024, Safe Families.

Safe Families is a remarkable organisation dedicated to offering “hope, belonging, and support to children, families, and care leavers” across the UK.

The organisation collaborates with over 35 local authorities around the UK, working primarily through local churches and community groups. Their mission is simple yet profound: “No one should feel alone. We exist to create relationship and connection because everyone deserves to belong.”

Safe Families is powered by over 5,000 volunteers from more than 1,000 churches and community groups. These individuals are the heart and soul of the charity, dedicating their time, talents, and passion to making a difference in the lives of others. Backed by a staff team of around 150 people, Safe Families operates with efficiency and dedication, guided by a board of trustees who provide insight, strategic direction, and accountability.

The impact of Safe Families is truly remarkable:

• Each year, they connect over 1,500 families, providing them with the support and resources they need to thrive.
• With 10,813 bed nights of hosting provided, Safe Families offers a safe and nurturing environment for children in need.
• A staggering 21,952 children have benefited from the services offered by Safe Families, experiencing stability and care during challenging times.
• Perhaps most impressively, Safe Families has demonstrated a decrease in the flow of children into care by between 9 – 16%, showcasing the tangible difference their work is making in preventing family breakdowns.

Safe Families operates in partnership with local authorities, churches, and community groups across the UK. Their reach extends far and wide, touching the lives of individuals and families in communities large and small. By collaborating with existing organisations and institutions, Safe Families maximises their impact, ensuring that support is available wherever it is needed most.
