Senior Accountant
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Accountant with strong leadership skills to join our growing team.
This is a key role within the firm, taking responsibility for managing a portfolio of clients while supporting and developing junior team members.
You will deliver high-quality accounts and advisory services, maintain strong client relationships, and contribute to the continued growth and success of the firm.
The role requires strong technical expertise, excellent organisational skills, and the confidence to work both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic practice environment.
The Role:
• Managing a portfolio of clients including limited companies, sole traders and partnership
• Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts in accordance with UK GAAP and FRS 102/FRS 105.
• Reviewing bookkeeping and management accounts prepared by junior team members.
• Supervising, mentoring and developing Junior Accountants and Apprentices.
• Acting as the primary point of contact for clients, building strong and trusted relationships.
• Providing business advisory support, identifying opportunities to add value.
• Reviewing VAT returns and supporting corporation tax compliance processes.
• Ensuring assignments are completed within agreed budgets and deadlines
• Assisting Partners with workflow management and practice development.
• Contributing to process improvements and maintaining high technical standards across the team.
• Assist in special projects and initiatives as needed.
• Provide support during tax preparation and other regulatory reporting.
To be considered, you will need:
• ACA / ACCA qualified.
• Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role.
• Experience managing a portfolio of clients.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK accounting standards.
• Experience reviewing work and supervising junior staff.
• Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Excellent customer service and the ability to build rapport and manage client relationships.
• Proficient in accounting software and MS Office, with advanced Excel skills.
• Experience in the medical sector would be advantageous.
